360º HORIZON
LAND WITHOUT A PAST
2007 / HDCAM / 38 MIN.

360° horizon, land without a past is a film about Flevoland, the last major land reclamation project of the Netherlands. In this forty year old landscape, which still reveals the layout of its creators’ conception on the drawing board, a number of polder pioneers tell their stories. The first baker, the first smithy, the first bank manager and the first farmers speak about their beginnings in a blank landscape, when there was nothing but the virgin soil. Their stories alternate with impressive shots of the present-day polder landscape, offering a fascinating contrast.
